I do this thing where I walk into random buildings that are interesting, and on my bus ride back from Whistler, I jumped off the grey hound (figuratively) when I saw the copper-green topped building.

I've always seen that building in downtown so it was about time I found out what it was. Upon entering, the marble steps and arches within the Fairmont Hotel Reception was a grand view

There was a lounge where people were drinking coffee and classical music flowing, a Louis Vuitton and Omega watch store within the hotel. Fancy! Then I noticed Griffins restaurant that looked like a classy old fashioned dining place. And the prices spoke fancy too.

Griffins has a Menu that you need to decipher a bit but basically, they have a desert buffet that is included with all main dishes. They have this special "appetizer buffet" that is basically a seafood/salad buffet and also includes the desert buffet. I had the appetizer buffet as my meal.

Overall, the service was impeccable, the location within the Fairmont Hotel added to the experience and the smoked salmon was heavenly.
